WHAT IS COMCYTCENTRAL ?

COMCYT Central is a communication tool of the Technical Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Science and Technology:  a portal to share the most up-to-date information on initiatives, activities and programs, open calls and dialogues. The goal of COMCYT Central is to inform about scientific and technological advances and trends in the Americas, and to facilitate the social appropriation of knowledge in a conscious and inclusive way.

The portal facilitates the exchange of good practices in the areas of science, technology and innovation among COMCYT partners: governments, private sector, academia and civil society. Some of the topics include: STI indicators; education and training of human resources in engineering; National Quality Infrastructure; technology transfer and commercialization; transformative technologies; Industry 4.0 and the future of work; Technological Prospective; digital transformation and the participation and leadership of women in the areas of STEM.

Through the portal, access is provided to a mentoring network of the HUB program for Marketing and Technology Transfer for the Americas, with a wide range of international and regional experts,  with practical experience in knowledge management and acceleration of technologies to solve specific problems. Mentoring is one of the tools of the HUB program to train, generate networks and regional collaboration, and bring solutions with economic, social and environmental impact "from idea to market." These tools help address priorities identified by COMCYT authorities to solve some of the most urgent challenges in the communities of the Americas and contribute to the diversification and sophistication of economies and access to technologies in the Americas.
