WHAT IS COMCYT?
The Inter-American Commission on Science and Technology (COMCYT) is a high-level regional forum for the design and execution of public policies and the establishment of alliances for development in the areas of Science, Technology and Innovation.

COMCYT is made up of the National Science and Technology Authorities or their respective technical officials at the highest level (Ministries, National Secretariats, and National Councils) designated by the Governments of each of the 34 OAS Member States. The COMCYT Technical Secretariat is the Competitiveness, Innovation and Technology Section of the OAS Department of Economic Development.
The Commission meets regularly to report progress in the implementation of its mandates and determine new courses of action based on the priorities established by the OAS General Assembly; the Summit of the Americas and the Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Science and Technology of the Americas.

Call for STI authorities from member states to discuss the possibilities of science, technology and innovation to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 and support post-pandemic recovery.
Prospecta Américas
Regional platform for technological foresight and exchange of experiences and collaboration on Transformative technologies and their social and economic impacts in the Americas.
HUB on Technology Transfer and Commercialization for the Americas
The Marketing and Technology Transfer HUB for the Americas is a high-level network training and acceleration program, aimed at entrepreneurs, leaders, and technology transfer professionals from the Americas, interested in developing and managing their technologies, businesses, and products. and services

Engineering Education Forums
Exchange of good practices, networking opportunities and trainings in the field of engineering education for professionals and engineering students of the Americas. Also, promote accreditation of engineering programs and faculty and student exchanges among technical and academic institutions throughout the region.
National Quality Infrastructure
Support the work with the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM); the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) and the Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT). Also, signed an Agreement with the Government of Germany to provide technical assistance to the National Offices of Metrology, Standards and Accreditation of the OAS Member States.
Diversity and Inclusion in STEM
Panel discussions, seminars, publications and mentoring to promote the inclusion of Women and Girls, and other vulnerable populations, in higher education as well as leadership roles in STEM fields. Support the Matilda Research Chair on Women in Engineering in the Americas as a Regional Advisor.
Scientific diplomacy
Facilitate the exchange of experiences and ideas on the practice of science diplomacy among the countries of the Americas as well as at a global level.
Bioeconomy
Work with experts to identify the latest developments, trends and research advances in the bioeconomy sector including in the areas of agriculture and food-production, forestry, marine, waste and energy.
