Sergio Cristancho - Vice Minister of Knowledge, Innovation and Productivity - Colombia


Vice Minister of Knowledge, Innovation and Productivity since April 2021. He is a full-time professor at the Facultad Nacional de Salud Pública and was Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Antioquia. He has been a full-time professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the National Center for Rural Health Professions at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, as well as visiting professor at renowned universities in Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Guatemala. He was Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the NGO Salud Latina / Latino Health of Chicago, as well as a member of the Editorial Board of the Family & Community Health Magazine. He has also coordinated the Working Group on Community Psychology of the Interamerican Society of Psychology and the Departmental Programs of Mental Health, STI-HIV / AIDS, PAB and Indigenous Health in the Secretariat of Health of the Amazon. He is a Senior Researcher at MinCiencias, led the Mental Health Research Group, placing it in Category A1. There he created and coordinated the Community and Intercultural Mental Health Line and the Indigenous Health Interest Group. He has led / co-led numerous projects in community health and mental health as well as intergenerational transmission of knowledge. As a result, of these studies, it has produced more than forty academic manuscripts, most of which have been published in indexed international journals. Psychologist from the Universidad de Los Andes (´95); MS ('01) and PhD ('05) in Cultural and Environmental Psychology from the University of Illinois with a Fulbright scholarship.
